VILLA
DELLE STELLE Siena
Sleeps max. 6 persons
Here
is an immaculate small borgo where the accommodations have been renovated
with no heed to expense. The end results are fabulous. Lovely buildings,
beautiful gardens filled with flowers, and surrounded by a delightful
panorama. Just ten kilometres from Siena centre, it is immersed in very
pretty countryside. There are seven apartments and Villa delle Stelle
with its own lawned garden and furnished outside eating area.
Entrance
is into a fabulous, spacious sitting room with fireplace and arch divider
to the dining area. A further arch leads to the kitchen with hand painted
tiles, cooker, oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A shower room has
a washing machine. On the first floor is a bathroom with double sinks,
WC etc., and a shower room with WC etc. One double bedded room, one twin
bedded room and a two-bedded room in which one bed is on a mezzanine floor
up a few steps.
All
the windows and doors of the Villa feature typical, Tuscan arches, and
internal arches divide the ground floor public rooms. The helpful owners
live on site and are available for advice and local information. The presentation
and quality of the furnishings is exceptionally high. Even the glasses,
cutlery and dishes have been chosen with particularly good taste. The
small town of Rosia is one kilometre away for all immediate essentials.
From here, a local bus service runs to Siena every half-hour. From Siena
there is a rapid bus service to Florence which takes approximately one
hour. A medieval city, Siena still continues some of its medieval customs
like the famous Palio horse race on 2nd July and 16th August. Hardly a
single street is on the level since the city is built on hills but exploring
it is fun. So many palaces, museums, galleries, churches and the aweinspiring
12th century Duomo.
